The S.S. Maria Theresa will launch March 26
Touted as the line’s “most ambitious ship to date,” the ship’s designers took inspiration from the Baroque period to create a design that will transport guests back in time, while pampering them with the latest comfort and technology.
Elements of the design include a three-tiered lobby with a sweeping marble staircase and glittering glass chandelier, a 10-foot high original oil of the ship’s namesake ruler, mirrored or silk-clad walls, antique wood paneling, and custom furniture pieces.
Public areas onboard the ship include the Habsburg Salon, with a collection of hand-picked antiques and inspirational paintings; the Viennese Cafe, serving classic Austrian fare; the 10-seat Lipizzan Cinema; Uniworld’s signature Leopard Bar; and more.
Maria Theresa will accommodate a maximum of 150 guests in 64 elegant staterooms, 10 suites, and one Royal Suite. The ship will be christened in Amsterdam on March 26.
