Luxury line says no 2014 calls to Ukraine and Crimea
Luxury cruise line Silversea Cruises has announced that due to continuing unrest in Ukraine and Crimea it will drop four Black Sea itineraries, with no calls this summer and fall to Odessa, Yalta, and Sevastopol.
The revised itineraries affect sailings on Silver Spirit and Silver Cloud. On its 7-day Black Sea itinerary, Silver Spirit will sail to Trabzon, Turkey instead of Odessa, while three new 9-day itineraries will visit destinations in Greece and Turkey, but will retain visits to the Black Sea ports of Nessebar, Romania, and Constanta.
On the 9-day voyages – which depart from Istanbul on August 20, September 29, and October 13 – Silversea will add a $200 onboard credit or a day in Bucharest, which includes a drive through Romania’s countryside and visits to the Palace of Parliament, Revolution Square, and more.
