Local food markets, World Heritage sites, and more immersive Europe river cruise experiences

Scenic Cruises has announced exciting additions to their 2014 Europe River Cruising program, including 35 brand new, immersion-based land excursions.

Scenic FreeChoice land excursions are always included in the sailing, with diverse options so that guests can explore at their own pace. In 2015, new excursion options will immerse visitors in each destination – example programs include “Shop with a Chef,” a guided visit to local food markets in Vienna, Strasbourg, or Belgrade to shop for products that will later be used in an oboard meal. Guests can also tour the World Heritage listed Zollverien Coal Mine in Duisburg, Germany, or take a cycling tour from Breisach, Germany to Colmar, France.

In addition to the new roster of excursions, Scenic Cruises will also introduce Scenic Opal and Scenic Jasper, two new “Space-Ships” on the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers.
