New itineraries retrace the footsteps of American Gold Rush pioneers & voyage into the Arctic

Ponant is introducing new itineraries in Alaska for the 2015 summer season.

Alaska and Arctic Adventure itineraries let guests follow in the footsteps of the pioneering prospectors who settled in the area during the Gold Rush of the late 1800s. The sailings will venture into extreme environments in the exceptional comfort of Ponant’s sleek vessels.

Guests will experience the diversity of Alaska, including indigenous culture, glaciers, rainforests, fjords, tundra, lakes, and snow-capped mountains. Choices range from 7- to 14-night itineraries featuring picturesque ports of call such as Haines and Ketchikan.

Additional activities include daily shore visits and optional excursions aboard the ship’s fleet of Zodiac dinghies in the company of expert guides and naturalists for close-up looks at polar bear, caribou, and puffins or exploration of the remarkable cultures of the Tlingit and Haïda tribes.

Alaska and Arctic Adventure cruises for the 2015 summer season include six different itineraries and nine departure dates sailing the Inside Passage or to Arctic Russia.
