Update: Third Canada/New England cruise canceled

After cancelling a September 28 cruise to make emergency repairs to a propeller, Holland America Line has had to cancel a second Veendam sailing to complete the repairs.

The Canada/New England cruise was scheduled to depart on October 2 from Boston. Guests booked on the cruise will get a full refund, plus a 100% future cruise credit.

“We are extremely sorry that our guests’ cruise vacations have been affected in this way and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” a HAL statement said.

10/7/14 UPDATE: Holland America Line has canceled a third Canada/New England cruise due to propeller issues. HAL has been doing work on the propeller, and determined that a complete repair can only be made in a drydock, which will take place in Philadelphia.

The seven-day Veendam sailing was scheduled for October 11. Guests booked on the voyage will receive a full refund of cruise fare, plus a future credit of 100% of their cruise fare paid.
