Luxury river cruise line will sail Mekong & Irrawaddy in 2015

Avalon Waterways has announced that it will introduce to new 36-passenger Suite Ships to sail in Myanmar for 2015, one on the Irrawaddy River and one on the Mekong. The new 14-day itinerary, Golden Myanmar & the Alluring Irrawaddy, includes a 10-night voyage from Began to Bhamo. Myanmar is a new destination for Avalon.

The new all-suite ships, the Avalon Siem Reap and Avalon Myanmar, house 18 staterooms, which feature a sitting area and Avalon’s Comfort Collection beds. The cabins will showcase the luxury river cruise line’s open-air balcony concept, which consists of a wall-to-wall, panoramic sliding glass door that when opened transforms the room into an open-air balcony.

Avalon has already established itself in the Mekong market in partnership with Pandaw River Expeditions in 2012, and has been leasing the 32-passenger Angkor Pandaw since then and through the end of the 2014 season. The Avalon Siem Reap will replace the Angkor Pandaw on the Mekong in 2015.
