Steamboat company debuts Bourbon & Bluegrass

“Sipping bourbon and enjoying Bluegrass are two iconic American pastimes that go hand in hand,” says Ted Sykes, president and chief operating officer of American Queen Steamboat Company. And with the launch of its new Bourbon & Bluegrass itinerary, guests will be able to do just that.

On the 9-day cruise between St. Louis and Cincinnati, passengers will travel the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, visiting local distilleries including Jim Beam, Buffalo Trace, Four Roses, and Heaven Hill for tours and tastings. Onboard, famous bourbon makers will pair their finest and rare bourbons with cuisine crafted and prepared by celebrity chef Regina Charbonneau. Ports of call include Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Paducah, Henderson and Louisville, Kentucky; and Madison, Indiana. Shore excursions in all ports plus complimentary wine and beer with dinner are included.

And of course, as the theme notes, the lively sounds of some of the finest bluegrass will entertain guests throughout the trip. Onboard shows will feature Rhonda Vincent and the Rage as well as the Storefront Congregation.

Sailings depart from St. Louis on August 29 and September 5. Fares begin at $2,549 per person.
