The newly-christened Emerald Sky takes to the river
The anticipation is finally over, and Emerald Waterways has successfully launched its first ship. The 182-passenger Emerald Sky is currently on its maiden sail, a 12-day cruise along the Rhine and Moselle Rivers, from Basel to Amsterdam.
Emerald Waterways is the new brand from the owners of Scenic Cruises, but will offer cruises at lower prices than Scenic ships. The fare for the Emerald Sky includes all onboard meals, some shore meals, port charges, gratuities, airport transfers, and unlimited tea, coffee, wine, beer, and soft drinks with wine and dinner. Fares also include continental breakfast, onboard Wi-Fi, and at least one shore excursion a day.
Other onboard amenities include a heated pools with a retractable cover (which transforms into movie theater at night), massage therapy room, a fitness area, al fresco dining, and a sundeck for reading, lounging, or just unwinding in the sun.
