Compagnie du Ponant Adds New Ship

Le Lyrial joins luxury fleet for 2015

In April 2015, Le Lyrial, Compagnie du Ponant’s latest addition to its luxury fleet of yacht-style expedition vessels, will cruise the Mediterranean on its maiden sail.

The new vessel will join a state-of-the-art fleet that includes sister ships Le Boréal, L’Austral, and Le Soléal. Like its sister ships, Le Lyrial will offer guests a sophisticated and intimate experience with a “French touch.” Its name refer to the Lyra constellation in the northern hempishere, the brightest star in which is the blue Vega.

With this inspiration in mind, Veronique Saadé, Deputy Managing Director of Compagnie du Ponant, has collaborated with interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel to create a modern yet cozy design that evokes a “yachting feel”, featuring a range of blues around the ship, from the subtle grey-blue of polar ice to radiant turquoise blue like the Mediterranean.

Le Lyrial will cruise the Mediterranean on its maiden sail – including stops in Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, and Turkey, before heading to Antarctica.
