Young cruisers can learn about travel through new children’s books
Finse was born at Highclere Castle, the filming location of the TV show “Downton Abbey,” where Lady Fiona Carnarvon – godmother to one of Viking’s Longships – breeds yellow Labs.
The books are sold on Viking ships as well as on Amazon.com, and teach children about destinations along the world’s rivers, including regional geography, history, cultures, and languages. Suzy-Jane Tanner, who has written and illustrated more than 100 children’s books, provides the books’ watercolor illustrations.
Finse, who accompanies Hagen on her travels, has gone to nearly all of the places she explores in the books. “Finse’s First Journey” and “Finse Explores Europe” came out last year, and were followed this year by “Finse Explores Russia” and “Finse Explores China.” Ultimately, the series will take the pup to Scandinavia, France, Indochina, Egypt, Portugal, and America, as well as explore good manners and world languages.
“We have a fun message to deliver through these books that is fundamental to our brand: learning about the world, which cannot start too early,” said Hagen.
