No one likes an outdated, boring cruise ship so it can be exciting when cruise lines choose to make significant upgrades that make their ships even more enjoyable for travelers. Royal Caribbean has some plans in store to upgrade and revamp their Oasis of the Seas ships. If you’ve recently been on this ship, you’ll be in for a treat the next time you sail. The changes will add plenty of amenities and extras to make cruising even more fun, and the upgrades will help to celebrate the ship’s 10th anniversary! Check out some of the planned upgrades below.
Renovations to the Oasis of the Seas ships mean more offerings to travelers. Updates include a Caribbean-inspired pool deck with The Lime & Coconut (a pool bar), several waterslides, and Splashaway Bay, a kid-focused pool and water play area. Kids, baby, and teen areas throughout the ship will also be improved to add interactive technology, games, fun events, and puzzle areas. Nurseries and teen areas will also be enhanced to meet the unique needs of toddlers and teen travelers.

The updated ships will also offer new dining selections including a brand-new BBQ restaurant, Portside BBQ and El Loco Fresh, a made-to-order taco and burrito restaurant. Finally, the new Sugar Beach will serve up ice cream and candy!
For those who love cruise ship entertainment, the new Spotlight Karaoke will feature private karaoke rooms for guests to use as well as a big stage for performances. The Boardwalk neighborhood will get Playmakers Sports Bar and Arcade with plenty of tabletop games and big-screen TVs for all.

The upgraded ships will begin to set sail on November 24, 2019. Make sure to get all the information you need on sailing Royal Caribbean with our in depth guide.
